| Sumario: | This article addresses the current state of Mathematics teaching in Youth and Adult Education (EJA), with an emphasis on promoting Meaningful Learning, as conceived by David Ausubel, identifying methods that encourage contextualized learning. The methodology used is qualitative, consisting of a Systematic Literature Review (RSL) and the analysis of academic documents published between 2019 and 2023. In the research, the articles were grouped into two main categories: challenges in teaching Mathematics at EJA and Meaningful Learning . The results revealed that the Covid-19 pandemic accentuated the difficulties, required pedagogical adaptations and constant updating from teachers. It is proposed that Meaningful Learning, by connecting new concepts to students' prior knowledge, becomes essential to overcome the challenges of traditional teaching, just as the integration of educational games and the contextualization of the curriculum are fundamental to increasing engagement and developing mathematical skills. In conclusion, the importance of innovative pedagogical approaches, continuous training of teachers, and a stimulating educational environment are emphasized to improve Mathematics teaching at EJA. |
