Resumo:Objective: To investigate the association between the intensity of symptoms of lower urinary tract and the ultrasonographic findings in patients attending the urology outpatient clinic of a university hospital. Methods: Observational and cross-sectional study conducted at a university hospital in 2013, in which patients with clinical and ultrasonographic (USG) diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) were evaluated through direct interview, by applying a form that collected data such as age, aspects of the ultrasound report, and the quantification of symptoms, by means of the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS). The study applied the Kruskal-Wallis test, Spearman correlation, and oneway ANOVA, considering statistical significance level at p
