Descripción
Sumario:We  aim  to  analyze  the  historiographic  discourse  of  Gustavo  Barroso  (1888-1959) present in the biographical narratives elaborated by the writer between 1928 and 1945. For this purpose, we will present some reflections  about the discursive forms  and  the historiographic conceptions that we see composing the writing of the experience of timein Barroso. We will study -through the interface between the history of historiography and literature -the possible relations between his speech act and his audience, in the constitution of a historical knowledge politically committed to the military past of the nation. By biographing the military personnel who acted during the Second Reign in Brazil, the writer did so in the light of the anxieties of his time, trying to construct historical analyzes deciphering and updating the national problems. We propose that the Barrosian biographical narrative integrates with the writing of Brazilian history, insofar as it assists in the creation of an order of time -the time of the nation -and in the  definition  of  a  space  of  performance -the  Brazilian  territory;elements  that  marked  the historiographical discussions of the period.
