These floods were considered historical by governments, the 2015 flooding being classified as a record. These and other floods follow the recurrence of the rainy period in its annual and longer term seasonality. In 2016, the river presented very low levels of water flow. The sedimentation and silting on the banks and bed of the river influenced the measurements recorded by level gauge. This effect may be due to errors in meters in determining the level of the river. Thus, this paper aims to highlight the disturbances that affect the relationship between rainfall and streamflow to draw attention to the impact caused by the lack of planning in urbanization, particularly in the city of Rio Branco. Regarding precipitations, notwithstanding the occurrence of characteristic extreme events in the region,  this study did not find climatology differences over more than fifty years.No inverno amazônico dos anos 2012, 2014 e 2015, o rio Acre experimentou enchentes, que ocasionaram alagações com severos impactos sociais e econômicos em bairros alagadiços e áreas agrícolas. Essas enchentes foram adjetivadas de históricas pelos governos, e a alagação de 2015 foi classificada de recorde. Essas e outras alagações obedecem à recorrência do período das chuvas na sua sazonalidade anual e de mais longo prazo. Em 2016 o mesmo rio mostrou níveis baixíssimos de seu fluxo de água. A sedimentação e o assoreamento, nas margens e leito do rio Acre, influenciam nas medições registradas pelas réguas limnimétricas e pelos sensores de nível, por efeito da elevação e da redução adicional das águas. Esse efeito pode significar erros da ordem de metros na determinação do nível do rio. Desta forma, busca-se evidenciar as perturbações que afetam a relação entre chuvas e vazões. Com isso, chamar a atenção para os impactos que ocasiona a urbanização e a falta de planejamento, particularmente na cidade de Rio Branco, sobre o escoamento superficial das águas pluviais.
