| Sumario: | One way of treating waste from biomass is its use in power generation. Of the conversion technologies, combustion is widely commercialized, being responsible for the largest number of patent deposits worldwide. Liquefaction, pyrolysis and gasification are more robust, but already used in developed countries as large scale. The objective of this work was to carry out a prospective study on thermochemical processes, using biomass, from two perspectives: technological indicators based on patent documents and scientific indicators based on indexed scientific articles using the software Questel's Orbit and the Web of Science platform. Based on the results, and the global scenario related to environmental and energy issues, thermochemical conversion technologies are viable and can contribute to the concepts of green chemistry, bioeconomy and sustainability, since they are dominated and there are international companies selling systems for this use. |
