| Resumo: | This article discusses the need for true information when related to the right to information, which is divided into the right to inform and the right to be informed and what is the connection with fake news, which, as they are fake news, directly conflict with the needs of true information, the essence of the right to information. Information literacy, on the other hand, represents a guarantee for individuals when faced with fake news, having the ability to discern which is fake news and which is true news, therefore refining the individual's relationship with information, whatever its form of manifestation . Thus, information literacy becomes a way of enhancing the right to information, especially in the act of informing oneself. To carry out this research, a bibliographical review was carried out, applying the hypothetical-deductive methodology. |
