| Sumario: | A new cryptic species of Triatoma which belongs to the T. rubrovaria subcomplex is described. The differences between T. pintodiasi sp. nov. and T. circummaculata can be verified in their chromatic characters, morphological distinctions in their phallic structures, such as the paramers, the phallosome support, the endosome process, and the vesica, among others. Biochemical analyses in the hemolymph and a comparison of the morphometric data of the head of both species also showed differences between them and other species of the T. rubrovaria subcomplex. |
