Sumario:The properties exhibited by conjugated polymers make them promising for various technological applications. Copolymerization of different monomers emerges as an alternative to improve the properties of these materials. This study analyzes research developed with conjugated polymers, especially with derivatives of thiophene and fluorene, through the search of patents and articles in national and international databases, using a specific set of keywords. The results indicate a trend in the growth of publications involving conjugated polymers, while derivatives of thiophene and fluorene show a less pronounced increase, which may be associated with the specificity of the field. The geographical distribution of research highlights leaders such as China and the United States, pointing to the need to expand the development of innovative technologies in countries like Brazil. The observed gaps in the field raise the need for new research to explore the social, scientific, and economic potential of this material.
