Resumo:In this paper we discuss recent advances of neurotechnology and how they impact the philosophy of neuroscience. Here we survey neurotechnologies that exist already or that are being developed and their possible impact on society from an ethical point of view, emphasising the necessity of their immediate regulation. We also point out the impact these technologies could have on classic ontological discussions in philosophy such as the problem of personal identity, the immutability of human nature and the primordial philosophical question: What does it mean to be human?
