| Resumo: | This paper centers at the construction of the senses in the short story “Despertar” by Guy de Maupassant. The methodological theoretical grounds is based in the Semiotics of French tradition, also called Discursive or Greimasian. The objective was to demonstrate that the senses that emerges from a semantic opposition in the fundamental level manifest themselves in the discursive level through themes and images that shows a character divided between two worlds, one is the world of reality and the other the world of fantasy. In this analysis, it is noted that the transition between these two worlds relate to changes in space, witch one of then corresponding to a specific world. Concludes that the socials coercions overlap to the individual drives. |
