Summary:Sexually explicit content has emerged as a significant source of one of the internet-related problems, negatively impacting the physical and mental health of users, as well as their interpersonal relationships. This methodological study was conducted with 214 university students, aiming to develop a questionnaire on the consumption of sexually explicit content (Q-CSEC). The items of the Q-CSEC were developed following psychometric principles, and content analysis was performed using the Content Validity Index (CVI). Subsequently, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and the calculation of Cronbach's alpha coefficient constituted the construct analysis stage. The Q-CSEC consisted of 10 items, all of which had factor loadings greater than 0.5, indicating strong interrelationships. The CVI was equal to 1, confirming the validity of the items, while Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.92, indicating a "nearly perfect" internal consistency. Statistical analysis was performed using R 4.2.1. The constructed questionnaire is shown to be a reliable tool for understanding the consumption of sexually explicit content and its implications for face-to-face sexual relationships and academic performance. It can be correlated with other validated health instruments, expanding the understanding of this biopsychosocial phenomenon in the university population.
