Description
Summary:The present article discusses the manegement problems of Metropolitan Brazilian Regions and shows alternatives, some of them already known, that may contribute to the proposal of new models, compatible to the large amount of institutionalized units. Intending to demonstrate the dimension of the metropolization process, it contains general information about units, making a historical comparison between 70s and 90s. It discusses the institutionalized regional units inclusion in metropolitan categories, in spite of the brazilian urban net classification. In addition, it presents a map of the units’ distribution, ilustrating how intensively concentrated i the process is in Brazil.
