Sumario:The paper presents a study of social participation of civil society in the Community Social Projects. The aim is analyzed the process of non-formal education in the practices of the groups of civil society organized. The paper has two parts: the first has a theoretical character and discusses the non-formal category and characterized the people that work in the community- the Social Educator. The second part presents the educators and the social projects that have participated in the selection of the Programme   "Rumos: Educação, Arte e Cultura", of the Instituto Itaú Cultural, in 2006.
