Descripción
Sumario:This study aimed to identify the perspectives of family caregivers of oncology patients in palliative care about good death. This is a qualitative, exploratory and applied study. It was performed in an inpatient service of a high complexity oncology care unit, located in Campina Grande, State of Paraíba, Brazil. The sample was composed of twelve participants, according to the saturation criteria. Data was collected through in-depth interviews. For the analysis of the data we used the analysis of enunciation technique and the senses association tree technique to illustrate the results found. We came to five categories of analysis. Talking about death remains a challenge, however, family members presented discourses consistent with the scientific literature, even without having professional training in health.
