| Sumario: | Having in mind the emblematic case of Ellen West, aims to visit the analysis carried out by Binswanger under the perspective of the 21st century, to length additional statements to the case and problematize with the characteristics also observed in patients with anorexia nervosa. From a brief presentation of the essential characteristics of the experience described by Ellen West, based on the findings regarding the experience of anorexia nervosa and its conditions of possibilities. The disproportion of corporeality is the description’s key point of these psychopathological structures; however, it emphasizes that, mitigated by the grandeur of corporeity, there is the perception of threat and annihilation of the individual and his subjectivity in order to prevent him from constituting his identity throughout intersubjectivity. |
