Descripción
Sumario:This paper seeks to reflect on the relationship between text and image in the Cantigas de Santa Maria, manuscript in Galician-Portuguese, under the patronage of Alfonso X, monarch of Castile and Leon of the 13th century. From the comparison, I try to demonstrate the inconsistencies between the miniatures of three cantigas with their respective captions. The conclusion is that visual and textual discourses are dialectical, interdependent or autonomous, always depending on the contexts of production and the historical meanings of the source.
