Descripción
Sumario:This study aimed to understand how the subjects, in the course of their life stories and through mainly experiential learning processes, built knowledge and awareness through participation in a social movement. Therefore, a qualitative study, using semi-structured interviews, was carried out to obtain narratives of the life stories of six participants in a Brazilian movement that unifies young people nationwide: the Levante Popular da Juventude [Popular Youth Uprising]. The study allowed the understanding of how the educational experience of participation in social movements favors the emancipation of the subjects who experience it, and leads to an awareness of participatory citizenship in the face of local and global reality.
