| Sumario: | This paper deals with the relation between public and writing in the invention of O desertor of Inácio da Silva Alvarenga (1749-1814), through the imitation of rhetorical models of long duration that compete at the moment of writing of the poem during the patronage of Pombal. Thus, it is proposed that against certain orthodoxy of the art doctrines of a Cândido Lusitano, Alvarenga produces threads of obscurity in his heroiccomic poem which, by its mixed nature, also speaks to a mixed public (the specialized academic environment in which the work was developed, and the broad one, idealized by the Pombaline civilizational project). |
