| Sumario: | The clerics of the Puna of Jujuy (district council of Salta of Tucumán) are responsible for indoctrinating and evangelising rural parishes in its majority of indigenous lineage. This article analyses the ecclesiastical work developed in the late 18th century by some of these characters in order to establish the degree of responsibility in relation to the commissioners and chiefs (curacas), in the construction, maintenance of churches, and promotion and development of fraternities and religious festivals. |
