Descripción
Sumario:This text aims to debate the aggravation of the “social issue” in Brazil, through the deepening of pauperism in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is supported by a methodology of bibliographic and documental analysis, based on the method of historical-dialectical materialism. It presents an analysis of the socio-material foundations of the “social issue”, showing its original process from the General Law of Capitalist Accumulation. It problematizes the current crisis of capital, as a structural crisis that highlights the absolute limits of the system. Furthermore, it is concluded that the Covid-19 pandemic context has consequences for the working class that emphasize the combination of relative and absolute pauperism in the Brazilian reality. It indicates, therefore, that the issues listed can only have a resolution bias when an alternative to this socioeconomic system, which disregards capital as its mainstay, is considered.
