Sumario:The research aims to expose the collaborative weight of the creator and the creature in the construction of the aspects of religiosity that modern man faces. In the work Caim one of the last published by José Saramago, the entire process of synthesizing the ideas of the Judeo-Christian tradition returns to its origin, in the restructuring of creation, told from the biblical Genesis. Furthermore, it explains that the reading of philosophical writings, interspersed with literature and critical analysis of religiosity, are not fundamental opposites of religious theological literature. In fact, the approximation of these texts, the dialogue between discourses, at first antagonistic views, and the critical philosophical production collaborate mutually for a maturation of philosophical theology, based on the construction of the mystical individual, situated in the world. This is also the path taken by the religious itinerary, in the construction of a new approach to religion and spirituality. Cain, the biblical character emulated by Saramago in this work, is the figure who bears the responsibility of opposing God and his magnanimous decisions. He dares to point out mistakes and flaws in the construction of an exalted divinity, but that in fact carries unequivocal features - in the views of the Saramaguian narrative - of a certain meanness, irresponsibility and carelessness on the part of the creator, and his actions.
