Descripción
Sumario:This study conducted an digital ethnographic analysis of the "Maníaco da Cruz" case, which occurred in Mato Grosso do Sul, with the aim of understanding the media repercussions that the case had, considering the virtual behavior of the population that consumed the news and how the media explored the topic. To this end, electronic newspapers, community comments, YouTube channels and television reports that addressed the case were analyzed. The idea of Piette's Volumentos in Mary Douglas's duality of pure and impure was used, as well as Durkheim's ritualistic elements. Thus, it was possible to understand how the case became relevant not only in the period in which it occurred, but also in the present day, since it continues to have repercussions in the media of Mato Grosso do Sul.
