Descrição
Resumo:The purpose of this article is to discuss the category of finance capital, having as a reference its use in the classic debate on imperialism. For this, we will revisit central authors of the founding interpretation of imperialism, such as Hilferding, Hobson, Bukharin, Rosa Luxemburg, Kautsky, and Lenin, trying to point out the possibilities and limits of the use of this category in the apprehension of specific phenomena of capitalism. At the same time, we will also seek to indicate the importance of theoretical mediation for an adequate understanding of the concrete relations of finance capital, in order to historicize the category within the socioeconomic context of the time.
