| Resumo: | This paper aims to discuss how the epic poem Ilíada behaves like a Kléa andrôn whose mark is the glorification of heroes that extends from their warlike exaltation to the valorization of their importance as relevant behavioral archetypes for the ethical construction of Greek citizens and, later, of an entire Western imagination. It is, therefore, a study that discusses the meaning and importance of epic heroes (SILVA; RAMALHO, 2007), according to a philosophical approach on the principles of aretê (ARISTÓTELES, 2009), by hybris (ARISTÓTELES, 2009) and philo (ARISTÓTELES, 2009), also describing the importance of funeral lamentations (WERNER, 2008) for the consecration of the epic and moral superiority of these heroes. The intention is for the reader to reflect on how the Iliad becomes a “Greek encyclopedia” that crosses generations, establishing itself as a text of strong pedagogical character, as its heroes become ethical inspirations for individuals of all ages of the history of universal literature. |
