Sumario:The quest for sustainability has received increasing attention from companies, governments and society, and its measurement has strengthened the concept of eco-efficiency. This fact has aroused the interest of researchers and professionals, who search the scientific literature for approaches in different aspects related to the theme. Motivated by the scarcity of works related to port sustainability, the objective of this study is to present a literature review based on content and theme about the use of ecoindicators in port management. Based on a bibliometric analysis with 854 publications, 26 more adherent studies were chosen, which allowed a comprehensive and critical analysis of economic, social and environmental sustainability in ports. The results pointed out the main variables used to measure port sustainability and also revealed conceptual divergences in the use of the terms sustainability and green. The selection of these indicators, by type of port, emerges as a gap and possibility for future studies.
