Resumo:Introduction: the internationalization of higher education has gained great prominence in institutional discussions, due to the need to keep up with global demands and the benefits arising from this practice. Such benefits go beyond the material, human, financial dimension, they mainly include the recognition of quality. In this perspective, the Federal University of Technology - Paraná – UTFPR, has approved its internationalization policy, which shows the strategies, guidelines and monitoring mechanisms of internationalization actions. This document is composed of 11 strategies, but for this study, 5 strategies focused on mobility, partnerships, double degrees, research and languages were considered. Objective: verify the actions developed in the first 5 years of implementation of the policy. Methodology: this is a quantitative case study, of an descriptive nature. For the analysis of this work, only 5 strategies were considered that focused on mobility, partnerships, double degrees, research and languages. Results: the results show that the university has followed a path towards internationalization, presenting a characteristic mainly of passive internationalization. Among the results found, a strong tendency to develop terms of cooperation with countries of the global north was observed. Conclusion: it is suggested the creation of a monitoring system, in which the results can be disseminated in a more localized way.
