Sumario:The  present  study  investigated  crosslinguistic  influences  (CLI)  in  the acquisition of English as a third language in the southern region of Brazil. The languages involved in the present study were Brazilian Portuguese (L1), German (L2) and English (the target language). The goal of the present study was to investigate: (1) the source of language transfer in English as an L3 and (2) the effect of typological distance, order of acquisition, L2 status andrecency in  CLI.The  results  showed  that  both  L1  and  L2  influenced  participants’ production in English.
