Descripción
Sumario:This paper aims to investigate the relationship between transport and tourism development of secondary destinations, based on the analysis of two Brazilian cities appreciably different each other, Rio de Janeiro and Belem. For this purpose, was investigate the waterway transportation system of these two realities and assessed the applicability of three theoretical models, two of them based on spatial approach and one with a structural perspective. The study confirmed the applicability of these models to these two cities; the combination of the models proved to be useful to examine and compare the supply of waterway tourist transports between the primary destinations and their secondary destinations, and allowed to find some significant difference between them. Through this analysis, margins for improvement of the tourist offer in the assumed territories were identified, by means of the waterway transportation. Lastly, on the basis of the international tourist demand profile in this two primary destinations, recorded during the period 2007-2014, is proposed an international tourist flows forecasting equation, between primary and secondary destinations, molded on the Single Exponential Smoothing method.
