| Sumario: | Problem: The emergence of Covid-19 pandemic challenged Primary Health Care to modify its work processes to mitigate its occurrence, without abandoning the programmatic actions that were already being developed. Method: This is an experience report on the reorganization of Primary Health Care (PHC) to face the Covid-19 pandemic, by describing the actions and strategies adopted by the municipality of Diadema (SP). Results: Shows: priority care routines and lines; home visits and actions in the territory; meeting spontaneous demand; care flow for users with Flu Syndrome; influenza immunization and vaccination campaign; surveillance of cases; Oral Health; actions of the Extended Nucleus of Family Health and Primary Care and nursing procedures. It synthesizes the operational axis, the actions to face Covid-19 and the challenges faced. From the beginning of the pandemic until January 2021, PHC was the largest municipal notifier, responsible for 58% of Covid-19’s suspected or confirmed case reports. Conclusion: The pandemic reinforces the need to defend the role of PHC for the allocation of financial resources, optimizing spending and organizing flows to reduce unnecessary spending on hospital admissions, both by Covid-19 and by other causes sensitive to PHC. |
