Sumario:The umbilical cord clamping is one of the most common operations in the world,it is divided in two; early and delayed. The delayed method consists of clampingthe umbilical cord after the pulsation is done, or 1 to 3 minutes after thenewborn is born. The early clamping is when the cord is clamped before 1minute. Objective: To establish the prevalence of the method used by the doctoractive in the obstetric area in the Hospital Plantadores de Cana and if thoseknow the disadvantage and advantage of the chosen method. Method: Gatherdata through questionnaire. Results: With the results we can see that themajority of the medical staff at the Hospital Plantadores de Cana know how toinform the advantages and disadvantages of the clamping methods used daily,as well as knowing which method to use for uncomplicated and complicatedbirths. As well as knowing how to inform which of the types would berecommended by WHO. Conclusion: These findings allow us to conclude thatthe medical staff working at HPC knows how to inform us about the advantagesand disadvantages of the method used, as well as which one should be used ineach particular case, thus showing us that they are up to date and aware of thematter.
