Bearing an extended maturation in the Franciscan school, intuitive knowledge or intellectual intuition (as opposed to sensible intuition) derives directly from the emphasis given to the singular and the contingent from Roger Bacon’s proto-empiricism. AvicennaO presente artigo tematiza o conhecimento intuitivo em Duns Scotus, qual seu sentido e razão. A pertinência da separação entre sentido e razão, que pode parecer artificialmente pressuposta deve então ser buscada não apenas como programa, mas sob suas condições conceituais. Depositário de uma longa maturação na escola franciscana, o conhecimento intuitivo ou intuição intelectual (em oposição à sensível), deriva diretamente da ênfase dada ao singular e ao contingente a partir do protoempirismo de Roger Bacon, e inscreve-se numa constelação de que partilha tanto o empirismo moderno quanto a filosofia transcendental.
