Description
Summary:In this article we intend to reflect on the erotic imagery in Gilka Machado's poetry, observing its form of constitution. To do so, we investigate how the female poetic self lives her eroticism and through what images it comes to light. For this study, we we focus on poems of erotic themes, whose symbology and meaning point to a reality of female desire. We have a dialogue with the ideas of Georges Bataille (2013) and Octavio Paz (1994, 2002) about eroticism and with Gaston Bachelard (1988, 2001) about the imaginary, which reveal the importance of this subject in the social and cultural spheres, and that can help us understand the relations between imagery, poetry and eroticism. Key words: Poetry. Imaginary. Eroticism. Gilka Machado.
