In vitro selection of rhizobacteria with potential for colonizing garlic roots of Chonan and Roxo Caxiense cultivars

Descripción
Sumario:The objetive of this study was to isolate bacteria from rhizoplane, rhizosphere and tunic of garlicbulbs from several cultivation sites and to evaluate the capacity to colonize garlic roots in vitro conditions. ‘Chonan’ and ‘Roxo Caxiense’ garlic bulbs were microbiolized in bacterial suspension during a period of 5.5 hours, deposited in tubes with agar-water 0.8% and maintained in growth chamber at 24 ± 2oC for 20 days when the percentage of colonized roots were evaluated. Isolate EHA/113 colonized about 96% of ‘Chonan’ and isolate EHA/ 109 colonized 75% of ‘Roxo Caxiense’.
