Sumario:This dissertation deals with a case study on the Palmas Bank, a pioneering exponent of a type of institution called "Community Development Bank." The objective of this work is to advance the discussion of economic sociology, on the matters of microcredit and solidarity economy. Given that the Banco Palmas corresponds to an intersection of these two objects. For this, an analysis is made of both the solidarity economy as microcredit for different interpretations, and how those meaning disputes influence the direction of these two themes. Then a theoretical context of Community Development Banks is done by grouping elements for the construction of a possible "sociology of Community Banks of Development". Lastly, it describes the historical trajectory of Banco Palmas and how this institution is situated and produces agencements in these disputes.
