| Sumario: | Based on Vilém Flusser's book Vampyroteuthis Infernalis, this article discusses some of the main concepts discussed there and, from them, proposes a reflection on the contemporary political-mediatic environment. Under an essay-flusserian approach, I start from a brief contextualization of his work and, along the argument, I draw parallels with current debates. The interpretation adopted here is based on the concepts of deforming mirror, esoteric conspiracy and obscenity. I argue, finally, that the vampyroteuthic metaphor remains active in giving us back an image of ourselves where we do not recognize ourselves. |
