Sumario:The present study aims to monitor both raw and treated leachate by the system of ponds in the controlled landfill site of Maringá. Moreover, this research is intended to evaluate the treatability of the raw effluent from the processes of: coagulation / flocculation with natural tannins and Moringa oleifera, uv radiation, the combined coagulation / flocculation / UV radiation and ozonization. The leachate's physical and chemical parameters were followed in this monitoring and treatability. It can be assumed, according to the outcome of this monitoring, that the raw leachate is recalcitrant and possibly for that reason, the existing ponds are raw leachate is the discharge standards. positively results have not occurred when it comes to the removal of COD In testes of treatability by coagulation / flocculation with the use of natural coagulantes, the best results for color removal and turbidity were acquired using TANFLOC SL at pH 7.6. The photolysis process responded positively to the removal of the investigated parameters: COD, color and turbidity, however, it was not enough to make them comply with the current rules. When the combined coagulation / flocculation / UV radiation was tested, it was found that the effluent had improved characteristics compared to the initial conditions, the removal percentages obtained were: 81, 100 and 9% for apparent color, turbidity and COD respectively. promising results were obtained in the removal of apparent color (83%), Turbidity (55%), COD (69%) and chloride (80%) In the ozonization tests. This research highlights the complexity of the leachate developed in the landfill of maringá, and the difficulty in the effluent treatment. The results obtained in the processes, however, they must be optimized in order to achieve more efficiency.
