Sumario:The following manuscript aims at problematizing Artificial Intelligence (AI), in the contemporary social environment and specifically Generative AI (GenAI) in the educational field.  Focusing on the conceptions of the terms and problematizing their use in the elaboration of the teaching resources. Initially, we introduce the social environment where we’re inserted, based on the works of Han (2017) and Rosa (2022). As a research methodology, we opted for  a qualitative, interpretivist approach considering that it covers several sources and various forms of interpretative practises that aim to reach different perspectives of visibility.of the phenomenon being researched. The research also includes bibliographical studies and documentary analysis. We take for consideration articles featured in several newspapers to problematize GenAI. Through the lens of Boa Sorte’s (2024),  Kaufman’s (2022), Santaella’s (2023), and others’ works, we discuss the contents of the selected materials.  As a result, we evidentiated that GenAI shows limitations, not all entries are trustful, besides errors, there could be biased texts. Regarding this, it’s essential the development of a critical literacy for the technological resources.
