| Resumo: | The present work, considering the sedimentation of situations of human rights violations evidenced in the last decades and the debate on the relationship between companies and human rights, analyzes the institute of due diligence in human rights. The bibliographic research and the hypothetical-deductive method allowed to obtain as a result the need to deepen the debate and extract the application of the institute in convergence with the UN guiding principles for business and human rights. It was also identified that there is a need to develop coherence between the business actions performed and the existing conflicts with human rights, in order to avoid or mitigate them. Critical reflection allowed the understanding that due diligence is an essential tool for the subject and must be developed and incorporated into business activity. |
