Descripción
Sumario:This essay reflects on the pedagogical ideals of modern education, inherited from the Enlightenment philosophy, as a guide for civic, critical and transformative education today. It deals with the educational bases that found emancipation and utopia and that aim to realize the autonomy of the subject as an agent of a free, fair and egalitarian society. The discussion is supported by theoretical-hermeneutic approaches as a comprehensive-interpretative methodology, based on Habermasian categories of society and reason, to recognize education as a universal and permanent phenomenon, which brought together pluralities of (dialectic) perspectives that shaped the understanding of its concept and its social-historical mission.
