Sumario:This text brings part of the questioning from a thesis which investigated the relations between young girls’ media consumption and the desire to follow a model career. The discussion proposed here is about the mediation of the media in this consumption process. The concept is operationalized since the contribution of Jesús Martín-Barbero, and the results point to media excellence as a mediation that helps to configure the character of “dream” that this desire obtains for the young girls interviewed.
