Descrição
Resumo:This study focuses on investigating and approaching Fashion Photography from the perspective of technology in the transition from analog to digital photographic support in Belo Horizonte. The central question guiding this work is: What were the main changes that occurred in aesthetics and in the photographic act, influenced by the transition from analog to digital technology in Fashion Photography? The approach was based on the oral history methodology of photographers, stylists, art directors, journalists and other professionals in the market. The research sources were the recording of testimonies from those involved in this cultural and historical process, talks presented at the Fashion Museum (MUMO), reading of specialized books and academic articles, in order to draw up a comprehensive overview of the changes that have taken place in Fashion Photography over the proposed period of three decades. The research was grounded in authors and interdisciplinary approaches. We selected prominent authors in the field of photography and technology studies, and among the scope comprising image critics and art philosophers, we initially chose Roland Barthes and Georges DidiHuberman, while also mentioning definitions by Vilém Flusser. There was also a study of the technical aspects of fashion photography, such as supports and equipment, and the aesthetic aspects related to this evolution. The starting point was to outline how this process created a scenario for the fashion narrative, taking into account the intense diffusion of fashion images as an aestheticized product in the cultural industry from the beginning of the 20th century. It is worth pointing out that fashion photography is a form of cultural expression that reflects the values, traditions and identities of a society. In this way, fashion is influenced by various cultural aspects, such as history, religion, economics and even politics. By considering the specific context of Belo Horizonte, we hope to contribute to a deeper understanding of the cultural and social phenomena associated with the digital age in fashion photography.
