| Resumo: | This paper aims to discuss how female representation is constructed in the letters written by Nelson Rodrigues with the heteronym Myrna, published in Diário da Noite newspaper from Rio de Janeiro, in 1949, inside the female mail Myrna escreve. It is a documentary and bibliographical analysis, based on the French Discourse Analysis, which studies the senses and conditions under which they are produced. From this perspective, we investigate the relationship between women and marriage in the texts of the female mail. The corpus consists of eight selected discursive sequences from five texts published in the newspaper. The reflections developed point out that the senses produced from Myrna’s writings indicate the identification with a traditional discursive formation, which associates the success of a marriage with the woman’s good physical appearance, the characteristics historically related to her femininity and, finally, your endless search for love. |
