Descripción
Sumario:This article aimed to analyze the influences, in the Brazilian context, of the establishment of the professional regime in Argentine soccer, between 1930 and 1933. In this way, reports from two important periodicals published in both countries were analyzed: El Gráfico (Argentina) and Jornal dos Sports (Brazil). It can be concluded that the ideas and actions put into practice in the neighboring country, which culminated in professional soccer in 1931, would be widely publicized in Brazil as an example to be followed, as a recipe for success for local soccer. This discursive apparatus, filled with quantitative data, can be considered an important face of the adoption of professionalism in Brazil, in the year 1933.
