Sumario:Discussing actions for inclusive care to LGBTQIAP+ people with cancer is a timely move, as they face innumerous barriers of access to healthcare on a daily basis, as well as institutional violence and prejudice, in addition to few skilled professionals familiarized with the specific needs of this community. The care to this population cannot be thought within a model of heteronormativity. The objective of this article is to shed light on this debate and insert it into an academic scope and rethink its implications for clinical practice; in addition, it is relevant to devise strategies to begin the treatment of LGBTQIAP+ patients with cancer and improve the communication with them.
