| Sumario: | This article aims to reflect on the general Vocational Technical School in Federal do Pará, current Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará in the 1970. This approach provides approximations on the history of the institution, considering changes in the region known as Operation Amazonia; the role of education, institution, the courses are designed to meet the company premises, demand that presented itself and reform the education from the Law No. 5692/71, and also the relationship between education and human capital theory. This was necessary for a theoretical review, a compilation and a semi-structured interview with a student of that period. Finally, closing remarks with a critical approach on the role of education in the professionalization, process of development in the Amazonia. |
