Descripción
Sumario:Seeking to oppose the concept of the “new right”, this work seeks to analyze the ideological similarities between the extreme right of 1964 and that of 2018. Bringing together contributions from political sociology and late history, defending the thesis that the extreme right protagonist of the civil-military coup of 1964 and responsible for the electoral victory of Jair Bolsonaro in 2018 are, in fact, representations of the same phenomenon: dependent fascism, a concept worked on by the Marxist theorists of dependence and which is very important in understanding the periodic advance of the extreme right in Latin America. Respecting the small differences, because they were located in different contexts, both encouraged elements or ideological bases such as: anti-communism, fake news, hate speech, alignment with US interests, religious conservatism; the fight against the progressive government, etc.
