The newspaper has been published since 2000 by RBS, in Rio Grande do Sul. Considering the journalistic practice which we have observed in the journal, we have noticed that credibility is a central category in the constitution of the newspaper’s identity. Credibility is used to remove the sensationalist characteristics from the newspaper. Besides that, we confirmed the importance of credibility as a strategy used by journalists as a way to sustain their professional identity.
