| Resumo: | This article is the result of a scientific initiation research that aimed to analyze the influence of mediation through the use of the SCALA system (Alternative Communication System for Literacy of People with Autism - narrative writing software) on the development of subject writing with intellectual disability. The text is part of the cognitive and socio-interactionist approach. The methodology consisted in the development of individual intervention sessions for written production, through the use of the SCALA system. The individual sessions with the participation of four subjects occurred at the biweekly frequency with a duration of approximately 45 minutes. In this text, we highlight the use of narrative productions of the SCALA system, adapting them to subjects with intellectual disabilities. Participants in the sessions, in addition to four young people with intellectual disabilities, the researchers' mediators, PIBIC fellows. Subjects with intellectual disabilities interacted with the digital environment and used the computer keyboard during the productions with the SCALA system. The research data show evolution in reading fluency and writing characteristics. The results also reveal the evolution of the subjects, regarding the coherence in written production. There is an important evolution of the subjects, regarding the benefits of interacting with software, and mediating mediators. The data suggest that subjects with intellectual disability benefit from mediation and they are able to produce more qualitative texts. |
