| Sumario: | In this article, we present a description of the different verbal subordination strategies in Kadiwéu and propose a syntactic structure for the CP. Although the verb is marked for person in both matrix and subordinate clauses, tense is not marked on the verb. However, complementizers may be marked for tense. Interestingly, Kadiwéu, like Danish and other languages, allows complementizer stacking. Thus, in an adverbial CP containing a topicalized subject, the complementizer nige/naGa may co-occur with the complementizer me. The Kadiwéu data come from the Tycho Brahe Platform at the University of Campinas, Brazil, and from elicited or published data. |
