Fractional statistics in the chern-simons theory
A (2 + 1)-dimensional theory of charged scalar particles coupled to an abelian gauge field with a Chern-Simons term in the action is canonically quantized in a generalized linear non-covariant gauge. We find, in all gauges, charged excitations obeying bosonic and fractional statistics. On general gr...

| Sumario: | A (2 + 1)-dimensional theory of charged scalar particles coupled to an abelian gauge field with a Chern-Simons term in the action is canonically quantized in a generalized linear non-covariant gauge. We find, in all gauges, charged excitations obeying bosonic and fractional statistics. On general grounds, the fields are seen to develop translational and rotational anomalies. The introduction in the action of the conventional -14FuvFuv suppresses the appearance of anyons. |
